Five Iranian films to hit Tehran’s silver screens

TEHRAN -- Five Iranian films are to hit Tehran’s silver screens on Wednesday to usher in Id al-Fitr, the celebration marking the end of the month of Ramadan, which will occur on Friday or Saturday, depending on the sighting of the new moon.
The comedy “Kalaghpar”, Shahram Shah-Hosseini’s first movie, tells the story of a newly married couple. The cast features Mohammadreza Golzar, Mahnaz Afshar, Akbar Abdi, and Hesam Navvab Safavi.“God Is Close”, the first movie by Ali Vazirian, tells the story of a simple youth who earns a living with his motorcycle by taking passengers to neighboring villages and who then falls in love with a village school teacher.
Abolqasem Talebi’s” Empty Hands” tells the story of an Iranian soldier who returns from an Iraqi prisoner of war camp after many years. Khosro Shakibaii, Fatemeh Gudarzi, Merila Zarei, and Masud Rayegan are the main cast members.
Director Majid Qarizadeh’s “Brick-Made Boys”, which stars Purya Pursorkh and Behnush Tabatabaii, is a love story.
Director Reza Khatibi’s “There Is No News in the City, There Is” is about the friendship between a taxi driver and a cook who plan a robbery. Afsaneh Bayegan, Mohammadreza Sharifinia, and Farhad Aiish are the main actors of the movie
